My perspectives of studing sociology and social psychology is based
on dramaturgical approaches. I believe that statistical data analysis and
qualitative research shoud be integrated in social contextualism. My research fields are on local communities. How do people encounter and communicate with each other on local communities? What kind of private troubles and social issues are they confronting with? Why was the trouble and issue caused? How will inhabitants resolve problems? I am collecting dramatical success stories of community development. Especially, I am interested in population aging, geographical migration, and community development programs of mountainous and hillside villages in Japan. Sometimes, I have participated international meetings in regarding to Rural Tourism, Social Gerontology, Redevelopment on Water-Front Areas, and Cultural Studies on Hot Springs in German and Japan. |
